In every age, potentially divisive controversies arise that the church has to deal with. Placed squarely before of today is issue sexual orientation and ambiguous response this question made by so far. line with theme World Council Churches' Pilgrimage Justice Peace, a special focus on gender justice, article brings centre oral testimonies queer people in conversation same-sex unions – debate mainly been driven heterosexual men. This article, which details personal stories several Methodist clergy who identify variously as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, other (LGBTI+), gives us chance hear voices up now have unheard. Some it not easy reading. There pain, misunderstanding, rejection, fear. Sometimes LGBTI+ are objectified. One can forget behind labels human beings, feelings, struggles, wounds. The reveal pain some vulnerable people. Perhaps meeting them through their promote further understanding bring us, if one mind, then deepened level respect for view may be different from our own.
